Euclid Happenings Mar. 7

ITEM: Record Store Day continues to build excitement as the list of limite
d edition special releases is trickling out in dribs and drabs. The official list isn't up yet, but Consequence of Sound has a pretty good round-up for you. Don't forget we'll be celebrating Record Store Day all weekend long, from Apr. 20-22, with live music, storewide sale, djs, food, drink, and lots more fun.

ITEM: We are so gosh darn chuffed with the new shelving units our man Rob built to hold all the used jazz CDs we've acquired of late. They are attractive and useful, too. So now all the used jazz from A to Z and even the various artists at the end are sitting there in one area for your perusal. You'll find titles we haven't had in years, as well as all the great classics from Blue Note, Columbia, Concord, Fantasy, Milestone, and other labels. There's never been a better time to check out our jazz section than right now. We'll be expanding the jazz vocals any day now, too!

ITEM: Congratulations to St. Louisian Justin Kinkel-Schuster (formerly of Theodore), who has a brand-new record out on the Misra label, distributed by Bloodshot. His new band is called Water Liars, and the album is called Phantom Limb, though it was originally supposed to be the band called Phantom Limb. Confusing, of course, but the music isn't. You can check out a track and read some nice words about them here.

ITEM: Speaking of checking out tracks, we switched out the listening stations last week, and there are a lot of cool new things to sample. How about Lambchop, Chuck Mead, Andrew Bird, Bowerbirds, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Sinead O'Connor, and Moe., just for a few examples? Just walk in the door, turn right, and stop in front of the window for your chance to put headphones on and try it before you buy it.

Your Consequence of Sound link in the first paragraph is all wacky. Should be: http://consequenceofsound.net/2012/03/the-black-keys-mastodon-arcade-fire-detail-record-store-2012-releases/
