Joey and Johnny Spampinato will be bringing their new band the Spampinato Brothers to Euclid Records for a free performance at 4 pm Thursday, Sept. 23. This will be the first Midwest performance by the Spampinato Brothers since forming their new band in the wake of the dissolution of NRBQ. Euclid Records is located at 601 East Lockwood, Webster Groves, MO 63119.
Joey Spampinato was a founding member of the legendary NRBQ, one of America’s greatest rock bands, and was also featured prominently as the bassist on the Chuck Berry movie “Hail Hail Rock & Roll.” His brother Johnny joined him as the guitarist in NRBQ for the last decade or so of the band’s existence, and both were in the band when they appeared on TV’s “The Simpsons.” The band is rounded out by Aaron Spade on guitar and Jay Cournoyer on drums. Their debut album, “Pie in the Sky,” is about to be released.
This will be the latest in the Euclid Sessions series of live recordings at Euclid Records to be followed by the release of a 45-rpm limited edition single from the performance. Each release will be strictly limited to 300 copies, and $1 for each one pressed will be donated to the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund (NOMRF) to benefit musicians displaced or suffering loss of equipment in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
